Did You Celebrate Maghe Sankranti???These Are Things You Most Know

                    Maghe Sankranti also called Makar Sankranti, is one of the auspicious festival in Nepal. It is celebrated in  first day of Maagh (from nepali calendar) which falls on January 14(2017 AD). It is supposed to be an indicator to decline of winter days and pretty good inception of warmth. According to wikipedia,"On this day, the sun is believed to leave its southernmost position and begin its northward journey." Maghe sankranti has very good religious value among Hindus, devotee wake up early hour of the morning before sunrise, take a ritual bath in many holy rivers, sing devotional songs and offer pure water to Surya (sun god). According to religious belief, the bath brings about self-purity and fulfillment of wishes.Devotees prefer some special holy rivers to do all these acivities. This includes Bagmati river, Gandaki, Naarayani river, Devghaat near Chitwan valley, Kaligandaki river(Ridi, Gulmi) and Koshi River basin at Dolalghaat at the Suun-Koshi.
In addition to holy bath and visit to the temples, people go and visit their elderly members of relatives and receive blessings. They feast on certain food items during the festival like Chaaku (retreated molasses), Tilauri and Til ko Laddu (a chewy candy made out of sesame seeds and sugar), Gheu (clarified butter), Khichadi (traditional way of cooking rice  with  black gram daal), Sakhar-Khand  (sweet potatoes), Pidaalu (Taro Roots), Tarul (Yam), and green leaf spinach.  All food items during the festival mark the healthy eating and are virtually directed to warm up the body alleviating coldness, for consumption of nutritious items and purification of one's body. In present context, alots of contortions visible in adults world. In addition to diversion from the religion, they are creating wrong ways to celebrate the fesival which is primarily observed in city areas. They go to dance bars, resturants,pubs just to celebrate in way what they used to do for any kinda celebration in behalf of the name of festival. Such tasks are going to matter to entire religion if any conservative rules and issues aren't made.What is challenging in this modern society is all about to bound people within a traditional way.
